Kinshasa’s iconic Jupiter Bokondji, known as the “Rebel General,” brings his electrifying band Jupiter & Okwess to the stage. From NPR Music’s Tiny Desk to Barack Obama’s 2018 playlist, they have become one of Africa’s most compelling live acts.
Fusing Congolese roots with rock, funk and soul, their explosive sound carries the pulse of a world in motion. Inspired by their album Ekoya (“It Will Come”), the music moves with rhythm, reflection and a restless, universal energy, an invitation into a powerful, shared groove.
