Aldo Brincat, a Cape Town-based, award-winning multidisciplinary artist, brings his powerful conceptual practice to MTN Bushfire. Working across drawing, photography, performance and installation, his work explores memory, identity and belonging, with exhibitions spanning South Africa, Europe and India.
At this year’s festival he presents MASC, a deeply personal and visually arresting solo performance. Blending physical theatre, mime and subtle illusion, Brincat transforms the stage through presence alone—shifting between characters and moments in a narrative that is both intimate and expansive. Inviting audiences into a shared space of reflection, MASC explores the complexities of belonging, where personal histories echo into something universal.
